Report:Prof. Takashi Fukuda, President of UEC visits National Science and Technology Development Agency of Thailand (NSTDA) and signs for the Extension Agreement of MOU with Dr. Thaweesak Koanantakool, President of NSTDA

Prof. Takashi Fukuda, President of UEC and Prof. Shigenori Kino, Executive Director of UEC visited NSTDA on February 12, 2016. They confirmed with Dr. H. Thaweesak Koanantakool, President of NSTDA, Prof. Pairash Thajchayapong, Senior Advisor of NSTDA, Dr. Sarun Sumriddetchkajorn, Executive Director of National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) under NSTDA and Dr. Pattharaporn Suntharasaj, Director of International Cooperation Division of NSTDA, the achievement of academic exchange programs between NSTDA and UEC, and expressed his gratitude for NSTDA’s contribution to fostering UEC students toward global and advanced human resources through the NSTDA’s achievement of UEC International Internship Program at NECTEC where the number of UEC students reached sixteen in total since 2009.
They also exchanged opinions each other on the preferable research exchange programs between NSTDA and UEC from the viewpoints of UEC’s evolving research activities as one of selected research universities in Japan and NSTDA’s role of administrative strategy planning, R&D, technical support and transfer to both academia and industry and human resource development. Successively, the signing ceremony of the extension agreement of MOU was held, Dr. Thaweesak and Prof. Fukuda signed the agreement. As a result of the MOU extension, it is expected to continuously evolve the UEC International Internship Program at NSTDA/NECTEC and develop the future innovative collaborations in both education and research fields.
