UEC Graduate Scholarships

The University of Electro-Communications (UEC) is pleased to announce that we have established UEC Graduate Scholarships starting from April 2018 enrollment for master’s and doctoral students who need financial assistance to study at UEC. We awards its scholarships to qualified applicants who have strong motivation, interest and an inquiring mind to do researches in the fields of science, technology and engineering and wish to enroll in the Graduate School of Informatics and Engineering. The scholarships are supported by the University of Electro-Communications Fund (UEC Fund).

Master’s Program

Scholarship

The scholarship is non-repayable.

Amount

Amount equivalent to admission fee (¥282,000) will be granted.
(The amount of this scholarship will be made by a lump-sum payment after enrollment.)

The successful applicants will be granted ¥240,000 per year.

Requirement

Successful applicants must apply for admission fee exemption during enrollment process.

  • Note: Since this scholarship will grant the amount equivalent to admission fee to students, applicants who could receive the admission fee exemption will not be selected as a scholarship student.

Doctoral Program

Scholarship

This scholarship is non-repayable.

Amount

¥30,000 per month (¥360,000 per annum) will be granted to successful applicants.

The scholarship award period is for 3 years after being enrolled in the doctoral program.

Requirement

  • Applicants should complete an application for the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (DC1) before applying the UEC Graduate Scholarship for Doctoral Program.
  • In order to renew the scholarship from the second year, applying for the JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (DC1) in each academic year is required.
  • Note: The scholarship students who have been accepted as the JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (DC1) should decline the scholarship offer.
