On June 5, 2025, Dr. Oliver Pieper, First Secretary at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Japan, visited the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) and held a meeting with Dr. Kazuaki Oya and Dr. Saeko Aketani, both members of the Board of Directors, as well as Professor Hans-Georg Matuttis and Specially Appointed Assistant Professor Ryo Anzai.
Following a welcome greeting by Dr. Oya, an introduction to UEC's academic programs, research efforts, and international engagement was provided, leading to a productive exchange of ideas on potential future collaborations in education and research.
Following the discussion, Dr. Pieper toured the UEC Museum of Communications and Professor Matuttis's laboratory, where he expressed keen interest in UEC's research environment and initiatives.
This visit served as a valuable opportunity to further deepen academic exchange between UEC and universities and research institutions in Germany, marking an important step toward strengthening future cooperation.
