On July 24, 2025, the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) officially signed an Academic Exchange Agreement and a Student Exchange Agreement with Daegu University in Korea. The signing ceremony, held at Daegu University, marked a significant moment where representatives from both institutions, President Soon-Jin Park of Daegu University and Dr. Kazuaki Oya, the member of the Board of Directors of UEC expressed their strong commitment to fostering deeper international collaboration.
Daegu University, a comprehensive institution located in Gyeongsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do, near Daegu, emphasizes a "student-centered" educational philosophy. The university is dedicated to fostering strong industry-academia partnerships, aiming for each of its faculties to achieve high levels of specialization and competitiveness. A key characteristic of Daegu University is its focus on integrating academic inquiry with practical career education, preparing students to be immediate contributors to society.
This newly established agreement is set to facilitate the exchange of faculty and students between UEC and Daegu University, thereby stimulating joint research initiatives and diverse exchange activities across various fields. This collaboration is expected not only to enhance the research capabilities of both universities but also to provide invaluable opportunities for students to broaden their global perspectives and deepen their cross-cultural understanding. Moving forward, we also hope to advance exchanges involving the administrative staff of both universities. Furthermore, discussions are underway to explore opportunities for promoting exchanges with Daegu Cyber University, which is expected to further expand our network of collaboration.
