On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, The University of Electro-Communications (UEC) officially signed a Cooperation Agreement with University of Tunis El Manar (UTM) in Tunisia. The signing ceremony was held at University of Tunis El Manar. Strong expectations for the future deepening of international collaboration were expressed by Prof. Moez Chafra, President of UTM; His Excellency Takeshi Osuga, Ambassador of Japan to Tunisia; and Dr. Kazuaki Oya, Board of Directors (in charge of International and Public Relations Strategy) of UEC.
The newly established agreement is set to build human networks and create new educational opportunities through the vitalization of faculty and student exchange. Furthermore, this partnership is expected to establish UEC's presence in Tunisia and the wider African region, and to promote research collaboration, thereby strengthening the research capabilities of both institutions.
University of Tunis El Manar is a comprehensive university located in Tunis, the capital city of Tunisia, and is considered one of the largest institutions of its kind in the country. UTM is composed of 15 institutions (including Institutes, Faculties, and Schools), covering a wide range of fields such as Basic Sciences, Engineering, Technology, Economics, Law, Humanities, Information Sciences, and Medical Sciences.
