On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Director Pascal Vairac and Director of the International Relations Office Gawtum Namah from École Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et des Microtechniques (SUPMICROTECH), France, visited the University of Electro-Communications (UEC).
During the visit, President Masakazu Muramatsu, Member of the Board of Directors (International and Public Relations Strategy) Fumiko Uraki, and Vice President for International Affairs Hiroki Takahashi welcomed the delegation and held discussions with the guests. Following opening remarks by President Muramatsu, Director Vairac addressed the meeting on behalf of the delegation. The participants engaged in active discussions on potential future collaboration in the fields of education and research, building on the existing relationship between the two universities. The delegation subsequently visited the laboratory of Professor Tetsuo Kan from the Department of Mechanical and Intelligent Systems Engineering. During the visit, they were introduced to the laboratory's cutting-edge research activities and exchanged views on ongoing research projects. The delegation also toured the annex building of the UEC Communications Museum, which opened in March 2026. Guided by Kazuaki Oya, Director of the UEC Communication Museum, the visitors deepened their understanding of UEC's research environment as well as its educational and research activities.
This visit provided a valuable opportunity to further strengthen the relationship between the two universities and to promote future collaboration in education and research.
