On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, a delegation from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) visited The University of Electro-Communications (UEC).
During the visit, President Masakazu Muramatsu, Member of the Board of Directors (International and Public Relations Strategy) Fumiko Uraki, and Vice President for International Affairs Hiroki Takahashi welcomed the delegation and held discussions with the guests. The meeting began with a welcome address by President Muramatsu, followed by remarks from Ali Selamat, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) of UTM, on behalf of the delegation. The participants engaged in a lively exchange of views on potential areas for future collaboration in education and research.
The delegation then received a presentation from Professor Yasuhiro Minami, Director of the Artificial Intelligence eXploration Research Center (AIX), on the Center's cutting-edge research and initiatives. Following the presentation, the participants exchanged views on potential opportunities for future research collaboration and toured related research facilities.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to further strengthen academic exchange among UEC, UTM, and MJIIT and to explore opportunities for future collaboration in education and research.
