Chandan Mazumdar

Chandan Mazumdar received his B.Sc (1986) and M.Sc (1988) from University of Calcutta, India and Ph.D (1995) from Indian Institute of Science, Bombay, India. For the discovery of superconductivity in borocarbide compounds, he had received INSA young Scientist award in 1997. Later on, he had carried out his Post-doctoral research work in Freie Universität Berlin, Germany (Humboldt Fellowship: 1997-99), C.N.R.S, Thiais, France (IFCPAR fellowship: 1999-2000) and University of Michigan, USA (2000-02). He joined the Experimental Condensed Matter Physics Division, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, India in 2002 as Reader-D, and presently working in the same Institute as Professor-F. He works in the field of magnetism and superconductivity, with a special interest in new compounds. He has more than 80 research papers in International journals and conference proceedings.
