Masaharu NOMURA

Masaharu NOMURA received his BSc (1976) from Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science at Shizuoka University, MSc (1978), and PhD (1982) from Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science at The University of Tokyo. He moved to National Laboratory for High Energy Physics(KEK) in 1982 as Assistant Professor and became Associate Professor in 1989, as Professor in 1999. KEK has been reorganized in 1997 as Institute of High Energy Physics. He is the head of Synchrotron Radiation Science Division II of the Photon Factory.

He has been responsible to XAFS beamlines at the Photon Factory since 1983. He has been participating in the development of various XAFS beamlines, experimental techniques and detection systems.
