In addition to hiring professors (full-professors, associate professors, assistant professors) through an ordinary open recruitment process, the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) also hires young professors through its tenure track program. This program has two components:
These are young researcher development programs that aim to improve the ability of researchers to engage in advanced education and research by offering various incentives and an environment that are oriented toward tenure attainment. Candidates who pass a review which will be conducted at the end of the tenure track program will be granted tenure status.
